Feature Provides Yet Another Reason Why the Popular iSimple® Brand is Quickly Becoming the #1 Line of Automotive iPod®/iPhone® Docking Solutions
Clearwater, FL (February 20, 2009) – At the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show one of the hottest technologies debuted was in-car Internet radio. And, when you think of all the radio stations and listening options available through sites like iTunes®, Live365™, Pandora® and others, you see why this is so exciting. But, why wait for mobile Internet radio tuners to start hitting the market when you can enjoy Internet radio right through your factory installed radio using an iPhone® and an iSimple® integration solution?
The easiest way to listen to Internet radio stations via an iPhone is to use one of the several radio apps available from Pandora, AOL Radio, FlyCast, Last.fm or allRadio. These apps are fairly inexpensive (some are FREE) and use a standard 3G, WiFi or EDGE connection to deliver Internet-based content to the iPhone. It goes without saying that if a user is in an area that doesn’t have 3G, WiFi or EDGE coverage, he/she will not be able to stream Internet radio.
Once the radio app installed and running, the iPhone can be plugged it into the iSimple solution. If a user has an iSimple SoundByte (PXDP), PolyWire (IS75), MediaWire (IS76), BiPass (PXAUX) or TranzIt (IS77) in his/her vehicle, all he/she has to do is plug in their iPhone and access the iSimple solution like normal. The iPhone will begin playing Internet radio, and the user can control his/her station using the standard iPhone touch screen controls.
If the operator has an iSimple GateWay installed, once he/she selects the GateWay through the satellite tuner, he/she will need to go into AUX mode to access the iPhone Internet radio. As with the other iSimple solutions, the user will have to use the standard touch screen interface on the iPhone to change stations or advance tracks.
Here is something to keep in mind: the way the iPhone is configured, you can’t currently use an iSimple solution to answer or place calls. To answer calls while driving, we currently recommend using a hands-free Bluetooth earpiece or other phone kit.
All iSimple automotive docking solutions are made, distributed and marketed by AAMP of America™. iSimple kits are available at specialty car audio and electronics stores nationwide, as well as mass merchant chains and online retailers. For more information, please visit www.iSimpleSolutions.com.
